1st Sunday of Advent.

Today we begin the great season of preparation for Christmas. The Liturgy of the Word is all about being prepared, so as we prepare for the festivities, the feasting and the fun, let's also prepare ourselves spiritually so that we can enjoy Christ's coming.

Why not try to set some time aside each day to be alone with God. Sit in silence, perhaps just for 15 minutes, and allow him to speak to you about what his presence in your life really means.

And have a very happy and blessed Advent season.

CHRIST THE KING

This Sunday is the last in the Church's year. Next Sunday we begin the great season of Advent.

Traditionally we pray for and celebrate the young people of our community, not the future of the Church, but it's present, as Pope Benedict reminded us when he visited Britain. May they be richly blessed and encouraged.

And may God continue to bless us all.

WE WILL REMEMBER THEM

This Sunday we remember all those who gave their lives in conflict and warfare across the ages.

May they Rest in Peace.
